What Happens In A Brand Workshop?

New business? Or an established one that needs a change of direction? It doesn’t matter where you’re at in your journey, if you’re planning to jump straight in and write copy for a fresh brand or stick with your old ways, you’ll find yourself getting a bit lost down the line.

That is, unless you start with a clear idea of what you stand for, who you’re talking to, and what makes you better than everyone else…

As Simon Sinek once said, you should always start with your ‘why’. Our brand workshops do just that, providing a great opportunity to position (or reposition) yourself before you present your message to the world. Let’s take a look at what to expect from a typical session…

Step one: Set your objectives

A brand workshop takes time and effort, but the benefits will be felt across your brand, employees and customers. So before we book something in, we’ll work closely with you to establish your goals and what you want to get out of the session.

It could be that you haven’t landed on your mission, vision and values yet, or perhaps you want to take a closer look at your tone of voice and target personas. Maybe you want to cover it all! Once we’ve confirmed what you’re looking for, we’ll prepare a workshop that brings the key members of your team together to encourage meaningful discussion.

Step two: Discover your voice

Our sessions can be conducted either in person or online, and can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day. Depending on the agenda, exercises can include SWOT analysis, competitor analysis, persona mapping, tone of voice development and so much more. You’ll be surprised how much you can find out about your business and team – as well as your brand!

We’ll also document the session and facilitate discussion, which is ideal if everyone in the room has different ideas. In fact, we encourage you to invite people from a range of areas and levels across the business – not just the board. Doing so allows everyone to have a voice at this critical stage and ensures you get input from those at the coal face.

Step three: Establish your foundations

Once the session has ended, our team will get to work putting together the deliverables agreed upon before the session. This could be a simple set of tone of voice guidelines or a suite of documents including reports and personas.

We’ll also book a follow-up call to firm these documents up so that they become useful for both your internal team and any outsourced partners moving forward. Then, if you need anything further – such as help planning, creating or distributing your now pitch-perfect message – we can discuss this too.

Crystallise your message with MYC

We know that every business is different. That’s why our brand workshops are tailored to your specific and unique requirements.

You’ll come out of the session with a crystal-clear idea of your identity and a deeper understanding of what makes you, you. And that sets you up to tell a powerful, more authentic narrative about your brand.
