The Highlights Of 2018: A Milestone Year For Our Copywriting Agency

The desks are tidied, the Out Of Office messages are on, and our clients have closed down for the festive period. It’s the end of what has undeniably been the best year yet for our copywriting agency, and we don’t want to say goodbye just yet…

Want to know why? We’ve condensed the highlights from a fantastic 12 months into a brief roundup of 2018…

New additions to the team

It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were a team of just three. Our Gareth pulled the party poppers to his first year in May. And next year, there will be five one-year anniversaries at MYC!

Doubling our headcount to eight has involved appointing our Editor, Lucinda. Miranda and Sam have joined our team of copywriters, while Helen has taken the helm as Social Media Manager. Plus, she’s been joined by a new member recently – we’ll be revealing the full details in our next monthly newsletter.

Our rapid expansion in 2018 even made it to press – you can read all about it on The Business Desk.

An invite to Downing Street

One factor driving this growth has been the sheer number of events we’ve attended. From debating commercialism vs creativity at pro-manchester to countless networking travels, it’s hard to pick a favourite, but ultimately our trip to Downing Street had to top the list!

Our Kelly shared her views on business growth and productivity at a roundtable hosted at No.10. It was an unforgettable experience, and a fantastic chance to represent small businesses in the North West!

International client wins

Making You Content went much further than the two-hour train journey from Manchester to London this year. In 2018, MYC touched down in NYC! Kelly made the most of her trip to the Big Apple by linking up with a company interested in learning about us. We’ve been working together ever since.

And they’re just one of the amazing clients that we brought on board this year. The team has been crafting copy in all sorts of new realms – everything from manufacturing whitepapers to Marvel adverts!

A social engagement

A great deal of the copy we’ve created this year has been for social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. As a result, it felt like a natural progression to move into distributing content ourselves, and getting behind the scenes of the likes of exhibitions and conferences with social media event coverage.

We’ll be expanding this service offering as we move into the New Year, ensuring that our clients get the best possible return on their investment in digital marketing.

With our fifth birthday right around the corner, we can’t wait for 2019. We hope your year has been just as successful and that you’ve had a chance to take a step back over Christmas.
