April Showers: New Friends and Events This Month

Taking stock of the year so far, we’re proud to see how our graft is paying off. As we embark on the new financial year, our copywriting agency is entering a new chapter of growth, with some exciting developments that we are delighted to finally share with the world.

To bring you up to date with our news and events, let’s take a look at what’s been coming our way these last few weeks..

Hello Northern Quarter

Good news – we’ve moved office! This has been a long time coming and we’re delighted to have found a nest in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, the hub of so many inspiring creative agencies. It’s a pleasure to be in the heart of somewhere so bustling and inspiring.

If you’d like to see our new digs, we’d love to have you over. Why not drop us an email so we can arrange a cuppa?

Meet Our New Copywriter

In the spirit of new beginnings, we’re also thrilled to reveal that we’ve got a new recruit in our content agency. Our Junior Copywriter, Josh, has recently joined the team, having come all the way from Liverpool to follow his passion for creativity and beautifully-crafted copy. He’s wasted no time in getting stuck in with our workflow, and we hope you’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the coming months…

IPSE Policy Conference

Do you have an interest in what it takes to be self-employed in the current job market? We most certainly do, since freelancers and independent professionals are fast becoming a cornerstone of the economy.

Our founder, Kelly Gilmour-Grassam, will be sitting on a panel at the IPSE (Association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed) Conference in Central London on the 26th April. She’ll be giving her views on the reality of freelance life, and what training and support is on hand for freelancers hoping to break into the industry.

Proud to Support #FeeNotFree

Quite suitably, we’ve also been getting involved in #FeeNotFree, an ongoing campaign concerned with protecting the financial status of freelancers around the world. Don’t be fooled by the website’s quirky comic style – freelancer testimonies expose the scandalous treatment they’ve encountered from some clients that delayed or ignored their requests for payment.

Fairness works both ways, and it’s important to shout about this issue so good work is always rewarded. If you have any stake in the freelancer-client relationship, it’s well worth tweeting your thoughts and experiences with the #FeeNotFree hashtag. Spread the word and say no to exploitation.

We’ve got lots more exciting projects in the pipeline, but for now it’s a pleasure to share these announcements with our friends and followers. Want to have a catch up over the phone? Contact us to have a chat about your copywriting, editing and proofreading needs – we’d love to hear about your plans!
